Sonowal to Detail India Maritime Week 2025 Vision in Mumbai

Mumbai, 15 October 2025 – The Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways (MoPSW), Government of India, in collaboration with the Indian Ports Association (IPA), will host a press conference at the NESCO Exhibition Centre, Mumbai, to share key details of India Maritime Week (IMW) 2025, scheduled from 27–31 October 2025 in Mumbai. The event will be graced by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi as the Chief Guest.

Ministerial Address on India’s Maritime Vision

The press conference will be addressed by Shri Sarbananda Sonowal, Union Minister for Ports, Shipping and Waterways. The Minister will outline India’s vision for the maritime sector, provide an overview of IMW 2025’s strategic objectives, and highlight efforts to strengthen global maritime partnerships, attract investments, and drive innovation across the sector.

Senior officials from MoPSW, the Indian Ports Association, and other key stakeholders will also participate, setting the stage for IMW 2025 as a landmark initiative to advance India’s maritime economy.

India Maritime Week 2025: A Global Convergence

IMW 2025 is expected to witness participation from over 100 countries, including ministerial delegations from Singapore, the UAE, South Korea, Japan, and Denmark. Key international organisations such as the International Maritime Organization (IMO) and UNESCAP, leading Indian states like Maharashtra, Gujarat, Kerala, and Tamil Nadu, and major industry players including Adani Ports and Logistics, Cochin Shipyard, and Paradip Port Authority will converge at the event.

This gathering positions IMW 2025 as a vital platform for collaboration, investment, and innovation in the maritime sector.

Showcasing Innovation and Driving Growth

India Maritime Week 2025 serves as India’s flagship global maritime event, bringing together maritime nations, international organisations, global industry leaders, innovators, and investors. The summit will showcase the latest advancements in maritime technology, port development, logistics, and sustainability.

IMW 2025 aims to foster collaboration, drive innovation, and strengthen international partnerships, reinforcing India’s role in global trade and blue economy growth. The event aligns with national priorities under Maritime India Vision 2030 and Amrit Kaal Maritime Vision 2047.

Delegations from partner countries, major ports, international maritime bodies, and leading private sector companies are expected to participate, making IMW 2025 a strategic platform for shaping the future of India’s maritime ecosystem.
