Adnaan Khan: From Delhi Introvert to Founder of K9 School, India’s Dog Training Pioneer

New Delhi, September 30, 2025 – Born in 1992 in Munirka, New Delhi, Adnaan Khan has emerged as a trailblazer in dog training, transforming India’s pet care landscape with his innovative and humane approach. The founder and CEO of K9 School, Khan has trained thousands of families and professionals, establishing himself as a pioneer in the field.

Early Life and Passion for Dogs

Growing up in a joint family, Khan was drawn to stray dogs from an early age. While his father advanced in the airline industry and his mother managed the household, young Adnaan found solace volunteering at shelters and studying canine behavior.

“I always knew I wanted to create something of my own. Business felt like the only sustainable way to merge creativity, impact, and livelihood,” he recalls.

His education in business at the University of East Anglia, UK, laid the foundation for combining his entrepreneurial vision with his love for dogs.

Career Beginnings and the Birth of K9 School

After returning to India, Khan adopted his first dog and spent six months self-training, realizing his passion was more than a hobby. He briefly worked in luxury real estate before joining Dogspot, India’s first pet e-commerce platform, where he helped build digital products and community engagement.

By 2016, the demand for his dog training expertise led him to establish K9 School, now India’s fastest-growing dog training academy. His CRP® (Correct–Redirect–Praise) system introduced a humane, structured method to raise dogs, significantly reducing abuse, bite incidents, and abandonment.

Impact and Achievements

K9 School has since trained over 20,000 families and 1,500 students worldwide, while creating sustainable careers for aspiring dog trainers. Khan recently completed his first book, detailing his training methodology and its success across clinics, shelters, grooming centres, and even military kennels.

His initiatives, including K9 Healers, extend beyond training—offering therapy dog programs and livelihood opportunities for underprivileged youth, people with special needs, and the LGBTQ+ community.

Khan’s expertise has taken him to international platforms, from the Police Dog Centre Holland to the German Special Forces, and even the Lok Sabha, where he became the first civilian to consult on security dog systems.

Vision for the Future

Looking ahead, Khan aims to make K9 School the global digital voice of dog training, leveraging AI, edtech, and licensing to scale his mission.

“Dogs are not just companions,” he says. “They are healers, protectors, and teachers. My mission is to transform how India lives with its 35+ million dogs.”
