Alumil India Appoints Vaggelis Papanikolaou as COO to Lead Operational Excellence & Digital Transformation

Navi Mumbai: Alumil India, the fully owned Indian subsidiary of the globally renowned Alumil Group—one of the world’s leading innovators in the design and manufacturing of advanced architectural aluminium systems—has announced the appointment of Mr. Vaggelis Papanikolaou as its new Chief Operating Officer (COO).

In his new leadership role, Mr. Papanikolaou will spearhead Alumil India’s operational strategy with a strong focus on process alignment, efficiency enhancement and cross-functional collaboration. His mandate also includes establishing a robust framework for scalable growth across the Indian market—one of the Group’s most dynamic and high-potential regions. With over a decade of international experience within Alumil Group, he brings deep expertise in digital transformation, business process optimisation and product innovation across several global markets.

Before taking on the COO role in India, Mr. Papanikolaou served as the Group Digital Business Development Manager at Alumil’s global headquarters in Greece. During his tenure, he was pivotal in conceptualising and executing digital strategies across multiple countries such as Greece, Cyprus, Serbia and Romania. This strategic background underscores Alumil India’s commitment to operational excellence, innovation and sustainable expansion in a rapidly evolving market.

Speaking on his appointment, Mr. Papanikolaou stated, “India is a key market in Alumil’s global growth strategy, offering immense opportunities in sustainable architecture and high-performance aluminium systems. As we continue to expand our footprint across major projects, our focus will be on optimising operations, accelerating innovation and strengthening collaboration with architects, developers, fabricators and façade consultants. Mr. Papanikolaou holds an MSc in Energy Systems from the International Hellenic University and a Master of Engineering (MEng) in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the Democritus University of Thrace (D.U.Th.).
