20 Schools, 10,000+ Students: Airports Authority of India’s CSR Initiative Expands Access to STEM & Robotics Education in Gujarat

AAI supports the establishment of 20 STEM and Robotics Labs across Gandhinagar, Mehsana and Mahisagar, bringing hands-on technology education to government school students.

The future of education is being reshaped through innovation, technology and experiential learning. Taking a meaningful step in this direction, the Airports Authority of India (AAI) has launched an ambitious educational initiative supporting 20 STEM and Robotics Laboratories in government schools across Gujarat through its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme.

Designed to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application, the initiative reaches students in Gandhinagar, Mahisagar and Mehsana districts, creating new opportunities to explore science, robotics, engineering and emerging technologies.

A Landmark Beginning for Young Innovators

The launch ceremony was held on 7 October 2026 at Swami Vivekanand Vidhya Vihar, Gandhinagar, where the STEM & Robotics Laboratory was formally inaugurated by Mr. V. K. Seth, General Manager (ATM) & Officer-in-Charge, Airports Authority of India, SVPI Airport, Ahmedabad, in the esteemed presence of Mr. Gaurang Nathwani, Mr. Dilip Khandelwal, Mr. Apurv Gohil, and Mr. Mayur Mishra, along with representatives from the Education Department, school management, teachers, students, and other distinguished guests.

The initiative has been made possible through the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) support of the Airports Authority of India, with the valuable guidance and encouragement of its Head Office CSR Committee, including respected Mr. V. K. Gupta and Mr. Amit Agrahari, CSR Secretary, AAI. The project is being undertaken in association with Ghoomar Kala Evam Shiksha Seva Sansthan, reflecting a collaborative commitment to strengthening STEM education, fostering innovation, and creating meaningful learning opportunities for government school students across Gujarat.

Learning Today, Innovating Tomorrow

Airports Authority of India supports 20 STEM and robotics labs in Gujarat government schools to expand practical science education.

The laboratories will provide students with opportunities to build models, experiment with robotics, understand scientific principles and develop solutions through practical exploration.

AAI’s contribution extends beyond supplying advanced laboratory equipment. The initiative incorporates structured teacher training, student engagement programmes and ongoing technical support, helping schools integrate experiential STEM education into everyday learning.

At a time when artificial intelligence, automation and robotics are transforming industries worldwide, such initiatives play a crucial role in making modern scientific education accessible to government school students.

The launch of these 20 laboratories marks the beginning of a meaningful educational journey, with opportunities for similar initiatives to be explored in the coming years.

By investing in young minds and promoting innovation at the grassroots level, the Airports Authority of India is helping build the foundation for a skilled, confident and future-ready generation.
