Sreehatta Sammilani Delhi concluded its Bijoya Sammilani 2025 celebrations today with a strong turnout and enthusiastic participation from members across the community. Returning to the historic Bipin Chandra Pal Memorial Trust Bhavan added a nostalgic and emotional touch, bringing together long-time members, new families, and well-wishers for a day of cultural performances, sports activities, food, and community fellowship.
The event was honoured by the presence of former President of Sreehatta Sammilani Delhi, Mrs. Bithika Dev, and the Hon’ble Member of Parliament from Karimganj, Shri Kripanath Mallah. Their presence added warmth and a sense of occasion to the celebrations.
Speaking on the success of the event, the President, Bikramjit Purkayastha said, “We are overwhelmed by the love and support the community showed today.
Coming back to Bipin Chandra Pal Memorial Trust Bhavan felt like returning to our roots. The turnout, the energy, and the heartfelt feedback made this one of our most memorable gatherings. On behalf of the entire organising team, I want to express our deep gratitude to everyone who joined us. For those who could not make it this time, we look forward to welcoming you at our next event.”
General Secretary Bijit Chakraborty added, “This gathering reminded us why community matters. When people come together with goodwill and shared pride in our Sylheti heritage, the experience becomes larger than the event itself. We hope to carry this momentum forward and keep SSD at the heart of wider Sylheti conversations.”
Sreehatta Sammilani Delhi remains committed to preserving the cultural heritage of the Sylheti community and creating spaces for connection, nostalgia, and shared celebration.
